Whole child approach

As stewards of public education in Wyoming, your State Board of Education puts its focus on the whole child.

To give our youths the knowledge, skills and abilities they need to be successful in life demands our unwavering attention be placed on each child’s physical and emotional well-being.

Together we’re working in partnership with the Wyoming Department of Education to meet the state’s 2009-2014 Strategic Plan. It’s clear that our education goals—including enhanced academic achievement and graduation rates—can be addressed in part through new evidence-based programs that show positive outcomes in these critical areas.

Moreover, these programs can help our state address youth suicide rates that have consistently been among the highest in our nation.

The call to action is now, and I’m proud that the Wyoming State Board of Education is part of the solution.
